The Mastery-Based Arithmetic Operations course helps learners develop the confidence to calculate mentally as well as learn to perform written calculations and apply these skills to solve arithmetic problems.
The basic arithmetic operations are addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Mastering them is the primary key to progress on to understanding other maths concepts.
This course is ideal for students who want to improve numeracy skills.
This course is especially suitable for pupils studying towards achieving grades 3, 4 and 5 in Maths GCSE.

1. Add and Subtract up to 100
Summary of the topic - Learn to add and subtract numbers up to 50 and 100.

2. Add and Subtract Sums Beyond 100
Summary Learn to add and subtract two, three and four digit numbers mentally as well as using written method.

3. Recall the times tables with corresponding division facts
Summary Learn by heart the times tables and the corresponding division facts up to 12.

4. Multiplication and Division Sums 1
Learn to multiply two, three and four-digit numbers by one-digit. Learn to divide numbers by one-digit with and without remainders.

5. Multiplication and Division Sums 2
Learn how to do two-digit multiplication and apply it in a real-life context to solve problems. Learn to divide using short and long division and apply it in real-life context to solve problems.
