Tailored TuitionÂ

Mastery-based Course | Mastery-based Course focuses on mastering the skills associated with a particular topic. It allows pupils to learn new skills or consolidate existing skills. Each pupil works on the selected topics at their own pace based on the assessment result. The pupils study together in a group as well as individually. |
Duration of the Course | Depends on the number of objectives covered. We recommend that the course duration is between 4 to 12 weeks. |
Tutor-led sessions | Tutor-led sessions are scheduled once, twice or three times per week at fixed times. It very much depends on the number of objectives, level of difficulty and the pupils' prior knowledge of the topic. |
The length of each session and time | A session can range from 30 to 90 minutes. Times are scheduled in advance and displayed on the course page. |

Concept-Based Course | A concept-based course teaches pupils to think in concepts helps them understand the underlying structure of information. Learners are inspired to apply these concepts in the real world in a meaningful way. The pupils study together in a group and complete few hours of independent study every week. |

Subject-Based Course | Subject-Based courses are subject-specific and structured to cover the entire syllabus aligned to the national curriculum for the respective years. |
Duration of the course | Lessons are scheduled for twelve months for pupils in years 7, 8 and 9. For GCSEs and A levels, we recommend a two or three year plan. |
Duration and frequency of sessions per week | Fixed times depend on the content you need to cover. A session can range from 60 to 90 minutes per week. Sessions can be held once or twice per week. |

Details of tailored tuition | Focusing on individual pupils needs tutoring them to achieve their personal academic goals. The pupil work at their own pace usually in separate breakout rooms. The tailored learning plan is based on the assessment result. |
Duration of tuition sessions. | There is no fixed time frame for the personalised lesson plan. It is very much dependent on the needs of the pupil. It can be that the pupil requires a few booster sessions for few weeks or long-term support for months or years. |
How long is the lesson?  | Lessons are usually one hour, though you may increase to 1.5 or 2 hours if requested by the customer. |
Frequency of lessons per week. | Lessons are usually held once a week for one hour. Though, you can increase or decrease the time and frequency of lessons per week. |

It is advantageous if you have teaching experience or are a private tutor.
If you do not have any teaching experience but want to tutor, we can help you train as long as you are committed to teaching.
Here is a checklist to help you get ready for online lessons.
You'll need:
- A laptop or desktop computer.
- A wired headset. Apple Earphones and Bluetooth devices (like AirPods) are not suitable. It may disrupt the audio and lead to echo or a lack of audio.
- A webcam - your device will already have a default camera built-in. Please note, all tutors are required to use their webcam at least in the first lesson.
- Strong internet connection.
- A compatible browser.
- Graphics tablet – recommended.
You need to be able to use and be familiar with virtual platforms such as BBB, Blackboard, zoom or Microsoft teams. Understand your browser settings.
Your responsibility:
As a personal tutor, arrange session times, plan and deliver quality, one-to-one tutoring sessions or in small groups of up to three students.
As a course tutor, your session times are scheduled in advance. The lessons are planned based on the course objectives. You will deliver group tutorials. Set and check students homework, provide constructive feedback. Monitor pupils' progress before and after the test and report to parents or guardians as appropriate.

Yes, a valid DBS certificate is essential.
Remuneration and Bookings
Your earning potential depends on the hours you teach, the number of students you teach and the fees you charge.Â
- You receive full pay for the first two months of the revenue earned.
- You contribute 5% of the revenue generated from each session taught after the first two months.
You invoice Alphareach for the lessons taught on the last date of each calendar month or the 1st week of the following month.
Alphareach shall make payment to you by direct bank transfer within three working days of receiving the invoice.
To book or reschedule the personalised lessons, you must contact the parent/guardian of the pupil directly. You must not contact the pupil directly if they are under eighteen years of age.Â
The topic based and subject based lesson times and dates are scheduled in advance.
We expect tutors to be punctual and fully committed to the work they do. Though, there may be unavoidable circumstances that may cause delay or unable to deliver your scheduled lesson.
If you cannot deliver a booked lesson, we recommend you reschedule the session notifying the customer and Alphareach. The customer will get a refund for any paid session if you are unable to reschedule the session.Â
You will need to reschedule your lessons if the pupil has given you advance notice at least 24 hours before the scheduled time or if they are absent due to technical difficulties or an emergency.
Sometimes things crop up, and you have to rearrange the lessons.Â
Our cancellation policy ensures that students have flexibility and continuity with their learning, and the tutors have protection against last-minute changes.Â
For personalised lesson
Parents/teachers notify the tutor to cancel the lessons as early as possible or at a minimum of 24 hours before the scheduled date and time.
As a dedicated tutor, your priority is to reschedule the missed appointment for a convenient time.
For topic based or subject based lessons
These lessons are on a monthly subscription. You may invite the pupil to attend any other sessions at your discretion. Â
We understand that sometimes lessons are cancelled.
If you cannot reschedule a personalised lesson, the customer will receive a refund for the cancelled session.
