What qualifications and skills do I need?

To work with us, you'll need to have relevant qualifications and be knowledgeable about the subject you wish to teach or create a course. An ability to edit images and videos, manage/create databases and use spreadsheets is advantageous.

Do I need teaching experience?

It is advantageous if you have teaching experience or are a private tutor. If you do not have any teaching experience but want to be a course tutor, we can help you train as long as you are committed to teaching.

What do I need to deliver online lessons?

You will need:

A laptop or desktop computer.
A suitable headset.
A webcam.
Strong internet connection.
A compatible browser.

What technical expertise do I need to tutor online?

You need to be able to use and be familiar with virtual platforms such as BBB, Blackboard, zoom or Microsoft teams. Understand your browser settings.

What are my responsibilities as a course tutor?

Your responsibility:

As a course tutor your session times are scheduled in advance. You will need to set suitable dates and times for the delivery of each tutor-led session, ideally once or twice a week, for the duration of the course.
The lessons are planned based on the course objectives. You will deliver group tutorials. Monitor pupils' progress before and after the test and report to parents or guardians as appropriate.
Set follow-up study tasks for the pupils to complete independently before the next session.
Review the pupil's homework and provide constructive feedback.
Check the pupil's end-of-the-course assessment results.
Provide feedback to the parent/guardian based on the pupil's end-of-the-course assessment.

What information do I need to give for my tutor profile?

Do I need DBS?

Yes, a valid DBS certificate is essential.

How much do I earn as a course?

As a course tutor, you can opt for a fixed fee or arrange with the course creator to receive a share of royalty fees per student enrolled in the course. The fixed-fee option for the course tutor can be £10 per hour for trainee tutors and up to £30 for experienced qualified course tutors. If you are both the course creator and course tutor you will receive 60% of the course fees.

When and how will I be paid?

You invoice Alphareach for all the lessons taught on the last date of each calendar month or the 1st week of the following month. Alphareach shall make payment to you by direct bank transfer within three working days of receiving the invoice.

How do I book or reschedule the lessons?

The topic based and subject based course times and dates are scheduled in advance. We will discuss your availability before we arrange the sessions.

What if I am unable to deliver a lesson?

We expect our Course Tutors to do their utmost to ensure they are fully committed to the work they do. However, there may be some unavoidable issues that come up unexpectedly which means course sessions cannot be delivered on the scheduled time. In these cases, we recommend you first try to reschedule the course session but if this is not possible then we would refund the customer for the missed session pro rata.

My pupil is absent from the lesson - what should I do?

The course lessons are booked in advance for the scheduled time. You may invite the pupil to attend another sessions at your discretion.

What if the pupil cancels the booked lesson?

The course lessons are booked in advance at the scheduled time. You may invite the pupil to attend another sessions at your discretion.

What is the refund policy for missed lessons?

If you cannot reschedule then, the customer will receive a refund for the cancelled session.

Every pupil can learn and reach their true potential. Though, some need more time to practice and internalise this knowledge.
